Makeup Academy Eyeshadows Palettes

Living in London is fun, but on top of that, it's a better chance to explore the UK high street or drugstore makeup. Makeup Academy or MUA is very budget friendly makeup line with the good quality. Thus, MUA promises to delivery fun, creative and quality with lower price tag.

Under the professional line, 12 eyeshadows palettes are quite a big hit with lately successful of Undressed and Undressed Me Too. I believe MUA is common name in UK now. Unfortunately, I don't own any of those 2 palettes but I had quite few palettes that I enjoy and would like to shake with u guys.

Kicking off with natural look, Heaven and Earth is what u need for everyday looks. Every shades within the palette are satin and shimmery finish, the pay-off is quite good. What u pay for is what get, it costs only 4 pounds.

Having girls night out? Dusk til Dawn is ur new gf for it. It's combined fun and colorful colors that can give the perfect smokey eyes look. Whether it's official day look or late night drink, this palette is completely versatile.

Finally, Starry Night is quite subtle. Yes, it is beautiful but yet I found it's hard to work with these colors sometimes. The palette suits for dramatic looks.

Lime Crime

Colorful, sweet sense, cute packaging and extremely opaque pigment are some characteristics in Lime Crime Lippies. The brand is invented by Doe Deere, a Russian gal who dropped out from fashion school. But I do admire her talent and creativity.

Lime Crime lipstick isn't not for shy galz, instead u need to live it loud and bold enough to pull it off. Some colors may not everyday kinda color but it's all super rich color, u get what u ask for, e.g. true blue lipstick. Even I find myself haven't use all the colors I purchased, happily I'm satisfied collectors who love to have'em all. Here's some colors that I own:

Retrofuturist: true red, suit for all skin tones

My Beautiful Rocket: lovely bright orange, not coral but orange!!

Cosmopop: milky soft orange

Coquette: peachy nude, truly everyday color

Centrifuchsia: rich berry pink

Countessa Flourescent: neon pink

Great Pink Planet: barbie pick

Airborne Unicorn: soft purple

D'Lilac: lilac milky purple

Chinchilla: greyish tinted

No She Didn't: oh I wish I didn't too, blue lippy, how fun

New York City: it's yellow, yeah, I'm really mean yellow lipstick

I did some research on the ingredient, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Diisostearyl Malate, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Trioctyldodecyl Citrate, Castor Isostearate Succinate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Octyldodecanol, Ozokerite, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Polyethylene, Microcrystalline Wax, Phenoxyethanol, Vanillin, Capryl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Vegetable Oil, BHT. [+/-] Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Yellow 5 Lake (CI19140), Red #7 Lake (CI45410, CI15850), D&C Red #6 (CI15850), Blue #1 Lake (CI42090), Yellow #6 Lake (CI15985), as they describe as vegan and cruelty free lipsticks. The lipstick is quite soft, beware of hot weather will melt these lil beauties. By the way, it has strong vanilla sense if u are not a fan of strong sense lipstick, skip it. Do I enjoy Lime Crime lipstick? Hell, yeah. I have an eye for there new color Geradium and Babette. oh, and some swatches in the end, enjoy ^^

UD Naked Basic

Urban Decay NAKED BASIC

This is another most anticipating palette from UD. I'm pretty sure that UDer will definitely excited and buy this product to compliment with NAKED and NAKED 2. After a few weeks of waiting, Naked Basic is finally launched here in UK. I got mind from Debenhams and it's online exclusive. The palette is retail for 20 pounds. I believe the palette is not available at House of Fraser just yet.

Naked Basic

The Naked Basic palette is consist of 6 matte eyeshadows without any brushes, lip gloss or UD primer portion. There is 4 exclusive new shades, which are Venus, WOS, Naked2, and Faint. I think the lack of matte shades in NAKED & Naked 2 is the trigger for UD to release this palette to all the matte shadows fans. The quality of UD eyeshadows are amazing, every shades are smooth, easy to blend and work with. 

Swatch

As I'm pretty fair, some of colors might not show up well on my skin tone.

Venus: satin finish with champagne shade, perfect for highlight the brow bone

Foxy: this is duplicate color from Naked 2, milky nude shade, almost same to skin tone

Walk of Shame or W.O.S: pinky matte

Naked 2: mid brown and it's darker than it looks in the palette and darker than Naked

Faint: mud-brown, it's perfect for crease color

Crave: matte black, less intense than Blackout

The Naked Basic is half of the Naked & Naked 2 size. Some may complaint about the pricey of this palette cuz it cost 20 pounds if compare to the Naked palette is retail at 38 pounds with Good Karma brush and UD primer portion. Currently, Debenhams has 10% discount for beauty product, thus, you can get the Naked Basic at 18 pounds, better take the offer before it's sold out.

Sleek Blush by 3

Hiya!! Since I got a chance to study in London, I got an eye for UK brand and Sleek is obviously can't missed. Sleek is famous for their high pigmented products in such a bargain price. To be honest, I never have a chance to try out their others products yet but Sleek blushes are one of my favorite brands. Some  people might compare some of Sleek blush to NARS, e.g. Rose Gold VS Orgasm or Scandalous VS Exhibit A. This year Sleek launched their new trio blushes and each palette costs only 10 pounds, it's still available on Sleek website.

Nars Andy Warhol Holiday 2012 Collection

As super fan of NARS, I'm really excited for this year holiday collection, which has featured with Andy Warhol. It is officially launch this November 2 in UK. Fortunately, I can get my hand on this collection before it actually launches. Big thx to my supra duper cute NARS Selfridged B.A. for sharing this amazing collection.

I bought 2 pieces from this amazing limited edition. First, it's The Photo Booth Set, which has 4 tiny NARS nail polishes. It costs 24 pounds.

It contains:

Chelsea Girls - peachy beige nude polish

Soup Can - extreme red polish

Another is The Edie Set, which costs 54 pounds here in UK. This set is worth every pennies b'cuz it comes with the metal box and pack of NARS goodies.

Overall, NYX Round Lipstick is really good quality if consider with its price and it worths to try on. Personally, I love nude lipstick and Orange Soda, Summer Love, and Circe are good to go. I believe there are over 100 colors for NYX round lipstick available.
